The Hakomi Way: The Art of Integrating Mindfulness and the Body in your Practice
Live & Online | August 16, 2024, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Pacific Time
Description
The Hakomi method is a body-centered approach to psychotherapy that uses mindfulness dynamically to access deeply held core beliefs. Hakomi recognizes how these beliefs are shaped by the forces around us and offers tools to explore our capacity to hold complexities and contradictions in ourselves and the world with love and compassion. This introductory workshop will use the Hakomi principles and foundational skills to explore ways to integrate these into your work.
Learning Objectives:
-
Learn about Hakomi’s unique application of mindfulness in therapeutic settings
-
Practice noticing the subtle somatic cues of the body and the usefulness of bringing this into the session
-
Use mindfulness and somatic skills to deepen your client’s awareness and experience
